    Makes sense really. They were charging a premium for the Apple nameplate and getting hammered by just about every other storage solution out there.

    Good riddance.

    The Xserve RAID was inflexible, overpriced and underpowered when compared to just about any other reputable RAID vendor.

    I agree. With the exception of large XSAN installations, the ONLY people that ever bought Xserve RAID were people that thought that they “needed” Apple only – these were the same people that “couldn’t wait” for an Apple HD capture solution (instead of AJA, Blackmagic, etc.), as if an Apple I/O HD would be better, cooler, or supported better than an AJA product.
