    Hi all,

I have a Mac book pro 2Ghz, (2006) laptop running OS 10.8 with FCP 6.0.6. I am running a project that is apple pro res HQ (24p) and in my timeline, when I playback footage in the canvas window, I want to watch it at Full res. It only allows me to watch it in Dynamic, medium or low. Full quality on playback is greyed out on the RT tab in the timeline. What is the problem? When I playback Apple Pro res basic, it is fine.

My mbp only has a firewire 400 input, and the drive is a G drive with fw 400, and there is plenty of drive space on my computer apx 40 gigs on my computer and 200 gigs on the drive.

please let me know if I can make any adjustments to fix this problem.

    best

    Lili

Firewire 400 isn’t fast enough to playback ProRes HQ. You need at least Firewire 800 for that.

And beyond that, your laptop is barely capable to run Lion, with a max ram of 3GB. It is incapable of running Mountain Lion. How did you get Mountain Lion installed on that machine?
