Apple Must Be Thrilled …
Posted by Paul Figgiani on August 25, 2016 at 8:20 pmHow many NDA’s were signed for this secret FCPX Roadmap presentation that took place 4 months ago at NAB? It’s amazing – not a single feature and/or potential release date leak has surfaced in the press or within the community. What’s interesting is before they started releasing public OS betas, future (NDA bound) features and enhancements were immediately publicily disclosed the very second the software was made available to Developers. With regards to this FCPX NDA – Apple must be thrilled.
I’m curious to see what’s in store. All I’ve heard is “you will be happy.”

August 25, 2016 at 9:18 pmI heard the same thing: “I think you’ll be very happy this fall.” This coming from a friend in the know. I think it’s going to be big.

If it’s got big changes, and things play out as they usually do, some people will be very happy, and others will whine and complain vigorously. 🙂 Maybe it will rekindle the “or not” debate!

August 27, 2016 at 8:37 amI wonder if the same presentation will be held at IBC this year? Would be interesting to see where FCPX is heading. Even if we jumped ship to Premiere a few years ago FCPX internals have always impressed.

Damn. Beat me to it. 😛
No matter what or how much it is, there are those waiting in the wings to trash-talk it no matter what, rest assured. And I think we can already take bets on who it will be first and foremost here, no? ;-D
“Nobody needs THAT!!” (3D text anyone?) “THAT’S still missing??!” (espresso maker or sundry feature somehow everyone needs to be “pro“?)
But mainly to justify having made the choice to something else 5 (or less) years ago… as if anyone actually cared.

This sentiment also perfectly sums up the Adobe Creative Cloud Debate forum every NAB and December (for the mid-year bug fix releases). I’ll be linking to this in the future! 🙂

“Sure there are a couple of people who pop back regularly to stir up some debate but most of the feature requests or complaints about missing features on here come from people who actually use FCPX.

Only I wasn’t talking about either.
Even I have a list of both, as does anybody that (actually) uses any software on a regular basis. Only I air those where it actually makes sense and is constructive.

August 30, 2016 at 12:29 pmAll I know is that some people who register for the special IBC event will certainly be “very happy”.
The most important thing about this event is that we will be able to demo some of the latest technologies and workflows, and that we will be able to record some pretty amazing presentations:
