Apple Motion very slow since upgrade
Hi all,
I’ve upgraded to the NVIDIA Quadro 4000 for prossesing from the ATI Radeon HD 4870, Resolve 8
seems to be running like a dream. A little (big) problem I now is Motion that I run on the same machine
is nowhere as quick/responsive as it was. My reseller (nice guy) has told me that Motion cannot access the full power of this card as it did the 4870. Has anyone else come up against this and if so what are you
doing. Is it best to have the MacPro purely as a Resolve work station to avoid problems?Thanks for any advice.

Why don’t you use the ATI card for the GUI monitor and the Quadro4000 as the GPU card for Resolve ? This way both Resolve and Motion will benefit from the respective cards.
Unless the ATI card uses both the 6-pin power connectors on the motherboard, which I doubt.

ATI 4870 uses both power supplies.

Hi,
Sorry bit confused, are we saying that if I do whip out the GTS 120 and put back the
4870 Resolve will still steam ahead with the 4000 and motion will again be real time (maybe).Thanks.
