Apple MacBook Pro 15″ Retina USB3 SXS Card Transfer speed
I have a late 2012 Macbook Pro 15″ Retina. I have used this computer on many jobs connected to USB3 Drives without issue. Today I have an issue with a USB3 Sony SBAC-US20 SXS Card Reader.
Through XDCAM transfer I am getting only x0.6 transfer speeds from 32GB SXS Cards with XDCAM 50MB 422 footage. I have another computer running the same version of XDCAM Transfer, its a non retina late 2012 macbook pro, this computer gives a transfer speed with the same drive and card of x16.
It’s not an XDCAM transfer issue as at finder level transfers are also very slow. It’s not the reader as it works fine on other computers. It appears to be the USB bus speed on the retina that is at fault.
The system profile is stating that the drive is connecting at ‘SuperSpeed’ speeds:

Hi Christoph,
You need to double check you have all the correct drivers. Specifically the UDF drivers. I thought I had them all but I went back and reinstalled everything sxs related and I then got the correct speeds.
