April 11, 2012 at 10:25 pm[Bill Davis] “is looking for clues about unannounced tech products in promotional photos the modern era equivalent of primitive people trying to devine the future by reading the “entrails” of various animals?”
Bill this is Apple, I’m using the . . . . iChing of course.

April 11, 2012 at 10:28 pmIf this is the best Apple can muster, I think they were better off saying nothing at all.

April 11, 2012 at 10:40 pmCheck the Apple Refurb Store – there’s always quite a selection of Mac Pro’s. Now down to just two basic models… somethings up.

April 11, 2012 at 11:27 pmMy connect-a-dot clues.
No CPU on RadicalMedia’s piece.
No link on the Red Rocket on the gear list for the piece that features it.
Evan (of Radical Media) tied to Smoke Mac (Mac specific) announcement.
Apple gets all this posted online just before NABMaybe these are entirely unrelated or . . .

Yep. As I said on another thread. Could be something, could be nothing, could be everything.

April 11, 2012 at 11:49 pm“Conspicuously absent from each profile’s “Gear” sidebar: Mac Pro.”
I noticed in the section on @radical.media their gear list just says “Mac”, even though they are in fact using a Mac Pro, as evidenced by the Cinema Display in the photo of Cy Christiansen.
Well, either that or they don’t want to mention the fact that they are using a Mac Mini for editing… 😉

I’m thinking of alternate possibilities but would a Red Rocket be able to run in a Thunderbolt expansion box? I thought that not viable (could I be wrong?). I’d think Apple would not have listed it in the gear just as there’s no MacPro listed on RadicalMedia, if it’s something not going to be in Apple’s prevue.
Also none of this means the “happening” will be at NAB or Smoke/Evan related.

They have 50 seats and lots of storage. It could be that they are using all sorts of flora and fauna CPU.
Craig, I think a Rocket can run in an expansion box. Check out the update list:

April 12, 2012 at 12:22 amI’ve been watching that. I thought the bandwidth wasn’t there for a Red Rocket though. Just speculating though.
Keep in mind Apple killed the link to the card for some reason even though they listed it.
