September 11, 2009 at 2:08 pmI am getting a demo unit, along with an HDP2. Should be here today or Monday.
I will look at the FSIs as well, but since we go through the effort of shoot/post in 10 bit, I’d like to check a true 10 bit monitor first. What the dreamcolor doesn’t have is all the bells and whistles of scopes, tc, audio, etc etc. I will miss that should I choose the dreamcolor, but I will have to weigh the options of that vs 10bit.

Yeah our next set of monitors in a few years will be true 10bit, but right now I didn’t want to spend the extra money since the processing on these panels is 10bit anyway. We don’t see any banding on these monitors and they are displaying really nice picture.
I figure in a few years FSI will have some nice 10bit panels in a good price range. The Dreamcolors look interesting and I’ll be interested to see what you think once you have a chance to play with them.
