So Apple just killed reasonable interim updates.
Buy your Mac desktop today and if you need another one in two years . . . you can buy another of what you bought two years ago . . . until we get the next model out in another year.

“Apple” says? Who, exactly, is “Apple”?

I think they were under a lot of pressure to do something. The Facebook page We Want a New MacPro has over 18,000 likes now. I don’t won’t be thinking about a new one until 2013 anyway, but yesterday was obviously a let down for many. Good to get an Apple corporate confirmation that the Mac Pro line will continue in the future.

Read the Forbes article. Apple corporate office, the source for the article.

Oh, I read it. I’ll believe it if it isn’t ‘calibrated’ in the next 24 hours.

“… that they will LIKELY be released in 2013”.
Keeping the escape route open, won’t you?

[Jim Wiseman] “Read the Forbes article. Apple corporate office, the source for the article.”

    Jim,

Actually the article is sort of written as if there was no human interaction regarding the communication – like the word was made manifest from on high. But whatever.

On topic, I wouldn’t be surprised if they doubled down on the new models in 2013.

    Franz.

I don’t think you have that confirmation. You only have confirmation that there will be desktops.

I think the title of the article and the first paragraph are specific, iMac and Mac Pro.

Why is it Dell, HP and others already have both consumer and business class machines with latest Ivy bridge etc. What could possibly take another year+ to develop? Something doesn’t sound right…
