I have lost the thread of the previous posting and unfortunately I still have not solved my problem.

I am having difficulty creating sub clips in Source view (or anywhere else for that matter).

The only directions I can find in any book, tutorial or forum on Premiere Pro 1.5 for creating sub clips is found on page 353 of Adobe Premiere Pro Classroom in a Book (c. 2004).

    It reads:

Drag from the source monitor to the project window.

I tried doing what you suggest and it doesn’t work.

After marking In and Out points I tried dragging the clip from the Source monitor to the Project window and the result is that the clip in the Project window is no different after I mark it than before.

In other words the clip is the same length whether I mark In and Out points in the Source monitor or not.

Well, yes, of course. It doesn’t make a new clip. It just make a reference to the original but with in/out markings.

If you want a new file, put it on the timeline and export it to a new file.
