I’ve looked at MBL and really like the product. But unfortunately it’s lacking.

Something that would be nice to have, like some of the higher end color grading products, would be tracking capabilities. For example, in a scene if I wanted to color grade the scene to make everything a greenish or bluish tint, yet maintain someone’s skin tones as they move.

There are also other features that some of the higher end products, like Resolve, have that MBL “could” have.

I’m wondering if anyone knows if Red Giant is planning a new major release of the product to give some of the higher end products a run for their money?

Anyone know? Or can anyone guestimate?

I very much doubt Ron, that they are gonna include Tracking capabilities
anytime soon…. Neither a new major release, since they just recently
    release version 2.5
Still, im pleased with it so far.

Boris Continuum Complete adds a Motion Tracker to a lot of their plug-ins so you may be able to achieve the result you want with BCC9. I agree MBL has a nice interface but lacks the ability to be more selective with tracking.

    Steve:

You mentioned in a post some time ago that you really like the Newblue Colorfast color correcting tool for Sony.

What is it about that plugin that you like and how has it helped you?

I use Colorfast to grade most of my projects for television and Broadcast,
mainly because it renders quite fast and offers a deep rich grading that
makes an image really pops out.
Other long form projects i use Magic Bullet Looks, but not just for grading,
remember looks offers tons of other effective features, that i use daily,
apart from color correction or grading.
