Sorry for the semi off topic here guys but I just can’t help myself!

While I was at Walmart today, this (https://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10575196) TOTALLY caught my eye!!!

    This thing really is incredible.

From the reviews it looks like it can handle the Photoshop CS series fine which means that it should also handle Dreamweaver as well.

Now, I am not doing anything HD yet as I am mainly creating video and websites for clients.

What are your thoughts on the specs of this Netbook for the occasional editing project “on the go”?

I am mainly looking for what I may be completely overlooking in a “moment of giddiness”

    Thanks, Jay

8.9″ screen, 1.6 Ghz processor, 5400 RPM drive…fine for email and Word if you can read the screen. I doubt it would be useful for Dreamweaver much less Premiere.

I have a similar unit from Eee PC (same specs, larger screen), and I have the entire CS3 suite installed on it.

While I guess I could use it “in a pinch,” I’d hate to use it for anything important–not so much due to the processor speed, but rather the screen size.

    Jamski:

This is exactly what I needed to know!

As it is, I am doing more and more graphic design and web work these days.

I am also finding a niche in being portable, both for ease of working as well as for convenience for my clients. They love that I can just pop in and SHOW them an update. I love that I can work for 20 minutes here and 15 minutes there while waiting to pick up the kids or whatever…

The issue is that to increase my workflow even more and produce more at the end of the week by making my use of time on the go more effective. That said, I am thinking that for specifically using this machine for Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Audition would be an unbelievable advantage. My 15.4″ HP’s hinges have given out and I almost replaced it with the model of 14″ Acer that I bought for my daughter.

I may grab one of these later today.

Before I do, would you be willing to do one test for me? I am curious about using Dreamweaver and Photoshop simultaneously. I am constantly jumping back and forth between these two on the HP (which by the way is a 2 Ghz AMD with only 1.25 Gigs of ram, so it isn’t that much different than the Netbook).

So, I guess what I am asking is for your opinion on multitasking on this machine!

Thanks so much for the response.

I don’t have my machine here at work, but if I remember, I’ll open them both tonight.

My eePC has 1 GB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive, btw.

OK, do you recall any experiences with several apps or multitasking that you have done?
