That is probably something that you would need to send to Sony tech support but, of course, they won’t accept it because “officially” Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 doesn’t support Vista 64 bit. 🙁

Looks like a file I/O problem with the Main Concept MPEG-2 decoder to me (mcdddec.dll). Perhaps a corrupt file in the project? perhaps a bug in VMS? (just guessing here… you really need to contact Sony)

Can you repeat this error reliably?
Can you render or encode in segments to identify a few seconds of the project that you can reliably crash?

I haven’t even gotten to STARTING my project on the timeline. This is just IMPORTING to project media. Maybe I should try starting it to see what happens?

Can you briefly explain how to do the prerender process? I select a certain REGION on the timeline and prerender and do I save it along with my other project files? And then how do I “paste everything together? I was thinking that maybe I should break my project up and do One song at a time render them separately and then paste them together? Seems like a lot more work. Are rendered files easier on the computer?

I will contact Sony because I also downloaded the free 30 day Pro version and the program STILL shuts down-not sure if it is the same error message. I’m gonna look more at the ERROR reports on my computer if I can figure it out. I stumbled upon this last one.

I hope it’s not a corrupt file! That seems like looking for a needle in a haystack! I wish I could just start doing the FUN stuff 🙂
