January 11, 2006 at 11:02 pmI can’t believe how fast this rumor has spread. It amazes me how void so many people here are of critical thinking when it comes to this kind of thing. How can an LCD monitor cause dropped frames? It makes zero sense.
My Apple 23″ is loaded with problems. Burn-in problems, color balance problems.
The two 24″ Dell monitors at my place are flawless. Absolutely flawless. They also have more inputs, they’re bigger, the picture is better, and there’s a height adjustable stand. And they cost less.

January 12, 2006 at 8:46 amNever had a problem with mine either. Bought an extra one that’s still in the packaging until I upgrade my mini to a G5 (hard to turn dowm $780 direct from Dell).
I don’t mind barefeats reporting a possible issue, actually I’ve very glad they do this kind of thing as it generally keeps us informed and up to date. But their language was poor in my opinion. Think it said, “but, there is a problem” in their summary and link. I would rather they had said there might be a problem. Much more accurate summary.
As far as the Dell 30″ goes, my first question would be is it also made by Compaq like the 24″ LCD. The specs sound different. -

January 16, 2006 at 3:11 pmI got my Dell 30″ last week to go along with my new G5 Quad. Unfortunately I haven’t been using the system very much yet. Still setting up, waiting on gear to arrive, and working on projects that are on my older G5. I’ll try to post some info when find something out.
All I know right now is that I love how big the screen is. I decided to go with one huge monitor instead of dual 21″ CRTs like I had on the pervious system. So far I’m a big fan of having everything on one screen.
