Anyone know why HDCAM ingest has trouble with Adobe Premier editing software?
At work we have been getting HDCAM tapes in from a producer. We ingest the shows into our servers and the QC team tries to open the files (with Premier) and once in a while they open but about 90% of the time they dont. So as a work around I started dubbing the HDCAM tapes to XDCAM then to our servers…Then the QC team pulls the content from the servers and It works but I have no idea why! I read up on the HDCAM output formats and all that eng data…And the XDCAM output eng data but I cant seem to find a solution from those manuals. IS this a frame rate issue or bit rate issue? and if it is one of these issues is there actually a way to change the HDCAM output settings so it will work…
