Anyone know if the AIC the same as DVCProHD???

September 19, 2005 at 7:39 amaic is 4.2.0 (as is HDV), bitrate is variable, depending on content. mostly around 6-10MB/s
no tape format is using aic.dvcprohd is 4.2.2, bitrate 14MB/s or 100Mbit/s (= 4x DV), it is also a tapeformat (also on P2)
perhaps apple or BMD could make a 4.2.2 version of this aic codec, or even better use JPEG2000 which is very scalable as an intermediate codec ( an is even a delivery codec with the Digital Cinema Initiative specs… )
There is also now the Thomson infinity camera who can use this codec.
