    Hi folks
I’m Editing in FCP6 and exporting to grade in my new shiny Resolve 8. Problem I’ve discovered is that Resolve 8 uses XML5 but FCP6 exports XML4! Does anyone know a way to convert a XML file from version 4 to version 5?
I’m currently round-tripping through Premier 5.5 which seems to talk to both programmes…. and thinking FCP’s days are numbered!
    Suggests gratefully received.
    Thanks

I think you’re doing it right. You either have to open the XMLv4 in FCP7 or Premiere Pro CS5.5 or CS6.

At some point you’ll probably need to comes to terms with the death of FCP and move over to Adobe or Avid. I made the switch to Adobe about 8 months ago, and rarely ever open FCP7 anymore. It was fun while it lasted!

Thanks for the reply Ryan. Yes I’m holding off that route until my CS6 upgrade arrives and I get it well tested, but suspect I may be following suit… shame!
