Anyone have a GTX 570 running Premiere with CUDA successfully on a MacPro desktop?
I’ve got a top of the line Mac pro that is buggy as hell! Things are stable (and slow!) when I disable CUDA. When I try to use CUDA I quite quickly get a black screen which eventually leads to a Premiere crash.
I’m suspicious that it’s my nvidia gtx 570 from macvidcards that is the culprit but I’m not sure. Here is my setup:
2×3.46 GHz 6-core intel zeon
64gb ram
nvidia gtx 570 1280mb
osx 10.8.1
Proavio/Arecca Raid 1400mb/s read & writeCould it be the new mountain lion os that is the culprit? I’m eager to try the k5000 and see if that solves it, but don’t have the $$ yet.
Anyone have a GTX 570 running Premiere with CUDA successfully on a mac or have other suggestions?

I have a gtx570 from MacVidCards running in a MacPro on 10.7.4 and it works great. Very fast and no issues.

I have the 570 and my system is pretty stable… but I have not moved to Mountain Lion yet… I understand you need to make sure you get your GPU driver and CUDA up to date to work…
Here is my system:
MacPro 4,1
24GB RAM
ATI HD 5770 – slot 1
EVGA nVIDIA Geforce GTX570 – slot 2
Decklink Studio – slot 4Mac OS 10.7.4
CUDA Driver Version: 5.0.17
GPU Driver Version: 1.3.4.0 (270.00.00f06)I hope this help,

I do have the same mac pro model as you have and was wondering if you happened to have the gtx570 striped or OEM version of this graphics card.i’m on the research to see if that same graphics card (off the shelf)will work on my mac too.

GTX570 2.5Gb with 10.8.2 CS6 MacPro 5,1 – and happy to report nothing but Greenish Yellow bars on top of timelines with smooth playback (even with mixed formats, effects, and scaling on fly while rendering out of AE – Amazing!)…
