    Hi dan,
What kind of footage are you editing and in what kind of sequence?
in which moment FC crashes? When loading the Application? When doing any kind of operation?
Which Mac are you using? What system/ What QT version?
    you don’t give much info.

The only people who this means anything to are the machine-level coders of Final Cut. It doesn’t mean anything to users.

Please do not post more of this here as it is gibberish that does not help diagnose the problem except for and by the coders and they do not interact with end users directly.

    Thanks for your understanding.

Its HDV footage, in a HDV sequence..? It usually crashes when we are doing a preview render. But recently it has started crashing more often. We are using a G5, quad core, 10gb of ram, 1.6tb hdd. OS X Leopard, and I guess the latest quicktime version, just did an update of everything with the software updater which I guess would update quicktime also, but that hasnt fixed anything either.

    Dan

You might want to post the log for the thread that crashed over on the Apple Discussions FCP forum … there are a few guts and all FCP users over there who would likely have a look for you.

the part of the log that you need to post would be best explained by an example: here’s one

    Hope that helps

    Hi Dan,
You have a big machine that shouldn’t have any problem dealing with HDV.
I would start by trying to optimize the System, mostly if you just have updated: Maintenance, Repair Permissions and DiskWarrior or Techtools.
There are always much more chances that FC crashes because a malfunction in Mac OX or QT than in the very FC.

Just a followup, it seems to have been a corupt project or something similar. I went into media manager, and created a new project with that and it seemed to work fine after that. It still crashes, but only like once every two weeks kinda thing, which is obviously so much better than the 10 times a day we where getting sometimes. Thanks for all your help 🙂
