  anybody use Xpress Pro 5.x with an Areca RAID? playback problems

  Hi,
  I recently got an Areca 1130 RAID for use with my Xpress Pro machine.
  The card is a REALLY FAST, STABLE AND RELIABLE SATA2 RAID 5.
  except when using Avid… the reason I got it.

  Avid won’t play any media from it, yet it sees and captures to it just fine.
  Driving me absolutely crazy.
  I can take captured media from the RAID, move it to the inernal or firewire drive and it plays just fine! I can import media as well, but playback gives the same error.

  the error appears on attempting to play any clip from the RAID.

  Exception: FILE_OTHER, filename:(the OMF or MXF file desired to play)
  Exception: SYS_ERROR, status:87, msg:The parameter is incorrect.

  I have old media I transferred to the RAID (copying over the OMFI MediaFiles folder).
  The media plays fine from internal or firewire drives, but not the RAID.

  WHAT IS WRONG?! I know it’s not ‘avid certified’ hardware, but it’s no different than a Highpoint RAID (which does work with AXpro, but is much less reliable than the Areca)
