  • Anybody running XpressPro on Dell Inspiron 8600?

    Greetings,
I have a Dell Precision 360 in the office and an Inspiron 8600 for use when on the road.
XpressDV 4.3 has been running great on both. I want to upgrade to XpressPro on the Precision 360. It’s configured as specified by AVID.
Received the upgrade package and see that the Dongle has to be upgraded as well.

Looks like that means the dongle will no longer work with XpressDV on the laptop. True? I don’t need all the capabilities of Xpress Pro on the laptop, I just need to rough cut.

Is anybody using XpressPro on a Dell Inspiron 8600?
If not, will the dongle still recognize XpressDV?

    8600 has 1.2Mb of RAM, 80Gig 5400 drive, Win XPPro SP2, NVidia FXGeoForce Go5200
I know it’s not an AVID approved system. Didn’t initially plan for it to be, it’s been working great and now I’m used to being able to cut on the road with it.

    Thanks for your help.
    Bill
