Anybody had this concern…
After working within AE 6.5 for a while, I notice that when I try to drag a new layer into the comp (does not matter what it is, movie, graphic solid…whatever) I have been getting a lack of response to that layer. In other words, when you drag into a comp you get a black line where you want to place that layer, above or below or whatever. I get nothing. It does not recognize what I’m doing.
The only way I’ve found to get it to work again is to close and restart the application.
I’ve tried repair and reinstall, same results. Any help out there??

hmmm… i’ve only ever seen this problem when i’m trying to import a comp which is recycled in that comp already – haven’t seen it trying to bring in a solid or graphic.
rather than quitting the application to resolve the issue, have you seen if flushing the cache solves it? it’s not the solution but possibly a quicker workaround…
