March 18, 2012 at 8:24 pmJust did two jobs with the c300. First I used the Xf utility, that gave weird artifacts in Avid so I’m never using that again, unreliable. Straight importing into resolve 8.2 gave a lot of artifacts and made resolve crash a lot. So I decided transcoding the clips to DPX, which is a hassle in resolve because you can’t put them in a batch. In short: can’t wait for an update!

July 17, 2012 at 1:45 pmThe workflow we tried for RAW was Avid’s new ver. 6 and it looks great. The moire issues are still there but we just work around them in our setups. The latest issues however are OOF with Canon zooms, L glass . They don’t hold focus from CU TO WIDE. The 24-70 is the biggest offender. 70-200 2.8 breathes too much…quite frustrating. Really need to use a par focal vs varifocal lenses.
