Any way to use 5-star XMP rating system?
Documentary editor here – I regularly work on projects that involve editing down thousands of clips. My current project contains over 8,000 video clips.
Editing down this volume is easy with photos in Bridge using the 5-star rating system via the XMP standard. If I could do this with video clips in Bridge, I would – but video plays slow and choppy in Bridge CS6. Not an option.
I notice Premiere Pro CS6 supports XMP rating (found in the Metadata Panel). Only problem:
I can’t figure out a way to assign hotkeys for a star rating. If I have to use my mouse to navigate to a drop-down menu and assign a star to 8,000 clips it will be cumbersome. Am I missing something?
Side note: yes, I have given Prelude CS6 a try. While its potential excites me, I find it is not yet beneficial for my particular workflow. Again, the problem is that you cannot hotkey through hundreds/thousands of clips quickly. I have to use the mouse to select the next clip in the queue. I’d say Adobe is moving in the right direction, but the program is still lacking for me. I’m sure others will find it useful though.
Thanks for reading and answering!
