    instead of that damn dropdown thing?
    it’s the only thing i think is wrong with 7… i like to click instantly on tabs, rather than wait to pulldown.

    Find this section in your prefs file and change the values to 01:

    [“Viewer Tab Auto Lock”]
    “AE Composition” = 00
    “AE Effect Controls” = 00
    “AE Flow” = 00
    “AE Footage” = 00
    “AE Layer” = 00

    thanks so much for the reply- this problem is driving me crazy!
    i tried to change the prefs (i’m using OS X on a mac G5) but everytime i launch ae7 it changes the prefs back to the 00 values.
    do you have any idea why, or what can be done?
