Any way to achieve 9-slice scaling on a shape layer?
Posted by Ryan Paterson on April 30, 2012 at 7:25 pmSeems a bit ridiuculous that there’s no in-built way to accomplish this. Does anyone know of a hack/plugin/script that will do it?

You could sort of build your own by moving the anchor points for individual layers, then linking their scales together with a slider control and expressions.

February 26, 2014 at 5:05 pmI’m bumping this thread. Is this something that someone has worked around?
I know I can do it pretty easily, but its fiddly and seems like someone might have fixed it by now? 🙂 -

July 14, 2015 at 12:35 pmI’d been looking for an easy way to do 9 slice scaling in AE myself, so I wrote an FxFactory plug-in that will do it. It has just been released, and is on sale for a limited time. FxFactory plug-ins are mac only, but it will work in AE, Premiere, Final Cut and Motion on a mac. Check it out:
