    Hi !

I have a minute’s interview and the sound is not good, from hisses to echoes, you name it, it’s dodgy….
My remote lapel mic was not working on the day so the mic was plugged in the camera about 5 feet away from the person speaking…

I look at all those sliders in Audio tools and think ‘Oh My! Help!!’

I tried using the hiss filters but nothing seems to change.

    Any tips please?

    Thank you!

Trying to improve audio from a camera mic is next to impossible. Your best bet is to turn it up and apply a hiss EQ filter. There is no way I can think of to get rid of the echoy, ambient sound within the Avid. If you have Sound Forge with the noise plug in, you might get rid of some of the ‘floor noise’ – the base noise of the track. Otherwise, you stuck using this as a learning experience.
