Take a look at Zoom forward, just reverse it and I think you got your effect.

Just have each letter on a seperate layer. Then turn all layers into 3D layers (check the 3D box next to each one). Create a camera, then initially place all the letters behind the camera in the z axis so they are not visible. Keyframe them to taste so they fly past the camera one by one just like in the example you provided, use ease in and out on your keyframes. Make sure that motion blur is checked for all your layers. Easy…

It also looks that they’ve applied just a slight bevel edge to the letters.
