  • Any suggestion for shooting Sports with XHA1s before I move on to another camera

    Hello,
I do a lot of sports shooting with xha1s for online videos. I read the manual twice…searched the web for different settings and suggestions for over a year but for some reason I’m not getting close to the quality i’m seeking.

Here’s a sample of my video with a little color correction (FCP 7/3-way):

Want my footage to look similar to this: (Shot with an xha1)

    1. Any suggestions regarding XHA1s settings and FCP 7
    2. Or any suggestions on a camera that will put out a richer quality for online videos?

    Thanks in Advance,
    Troy

To be honest I dont see a lot of difference between these two videos. The XHA1 is a pretty old camera and HDV is a very compressed format. It was great for it’s time since it gave us HD output but we have come a long way since then. If you want a better image and I mean a big step up pretty much any modern HD camera will give you much better results than the XH-A1. If shooting sports is your main thing then a 1/3 chip camera will give you the look and is easier to focus than a large sensor camera.
