February 9, 2012 at 9:57 pmI really hope the guys at Adobe work on improving the OMF and AAF export as it seems to be a work in progress with 5.5. I am having to stick with Avid MC for some projects to get a reliable audio export to Protools.
Todd I hope you guys are looking at for us all and thanks for listening on this forum. If you need more details let me know.
Cheers

You may know this already – if so, sorry – but the best way to get Adobe’s official ear is through here:

February 11, 2012 at 1:13 amGee guys, all the man did was say wait until NAB. Hardly a middle finger!
I, for one, and many others, are very grateful for people like Todd’s presence and worthwhile assistance on this forum as well as people like Dennis in the Final Cut X Debate forum.
A slightly different presence and approach than certain other companies who feel that complete and utter silence is the best approach to an industry relying on their soft and hardware.
If you’re looking for middle fingers I can tell you where to go.

February 13, 2012 at 3:59 amI have heard that Adobe will be implementing:
Audio tracks will work like a regular NLE, ability to export to OMF easily, better FX implementation for single and track audio.Transitions galore! Single sided transitions will finally be addressed after over 15 years of user requests! Excellent work on this one Adobe, Thank You.
Macs will have all the features and benefits of PeeCees including Ati video card support(AMD now).
Adobe releases coding that is critical for plug in developers(finally) although at the risk of alienating some After Effects purchases(FX Plug-like).
Sync playhead through PSD files.
Markers retain playhead sych through layers.
They also address all the things I forgot that are important to me in this forward looking software. I know it’s true, I know it’s true….

To anyone “watching” this thread,
As a long time Professional User of the Adobe Video Products I know first hand how eager everyone is to hear about what’s coming for the next release. But these rumor mills are just trouble.
Working “behind the curtain” now as part of Adobe I can see that this software company shares more than any others in the Pro Video Space and that we genuinely care about providing the best products for users.
When posters start rattling off features they would like to see but not wording it as such or using words like “I heard” it’s not cool on several levels.
If someone does have some “real” insights to what’s coming and sharing it, they are by definition breaking the law as they will be under strict NDA.
Despite the excitement I ask people to do your best to let go of the rumor mills and “I heard” posts. They aren’t going to change your life.
It’s like becoming a parent. Whether or not the “baby” is a boy or girl doesn’t really matter, so long as its healthy – right? Don’t try to buy baby clothes early. Be patient, wait, get excited and remain open.
Cheers JB

Truth be told, it will be neither “boy” nor “girl” but a true hermaphrodite! Imagine that, everything you always wanted in one. It’s a Christmas miracle!CrippleBook Pro 2.3Ghz i7, 8GB ram, SLeopard 10.6.8, FCPStudio 3, QT 7
