For the most part not to many gotchas.

Here is some things to be aware of:
If you open a version 4 project in version 7 and save in
version 7, you can no longer open it in version 4.
No biggie here, just use version 7.

Now this one will affect you if you have purchased plugins for version 4. This could be somthing like Excalibur, Ultimate S, Radiance, SpiceMaster etc. Some of them will work while others will have to be updated.

As a guy who started on Version 3, I can tell you that you will love version 7 compared to 4.

One last thought, Version 8 Pro is about to come out, and sounds like it will be a really cool version. It will not be a free upgrade but make sure that where you purchase 7 from will allow you to upgrade to 8 Pro with little to no cost.

    Regards, Rick.

VideoGuys has already posted that anyone purchasing Vegas 7 from them from this point forward will get a free upgrade to Vegas 8.

Beyond what Rick said, the only “risk” I can see is you getting mad at yourself for not upgrading sooner 🙂

LOTS of good new features to play with!
