    Hi,

I hope this is an OK place to ask this question. I am considering getting the new Dell T7610 workstation. Any thoughts, insights, suggestions? (I do not want to build my own system) I edit with Premiere CS6 and also spend a lot of time in AE CS6.

–Dual Intel Xeon Processor E5-2650 v2 (Eight Core HT, 2.6GHz Turbo, 20 MB)
    –64 GB (16x4GB) 1866MHz DDR3 ECC RDIMM
    –4GB NVIDIA Quadro K5000
–4 2TB internal 7200 RPM HDD’s (Including boot drive) They offer a 256GB SSD boot drive, but not sure how that would be significantly better, except for boot speed)
    –Win 7 Pro 64bit

    Thanks.

PS: Or if not that, then the HP Z820…

We got T7600’s that were configured in a similar fashion except for more internal media storage.

So far, they are very fast beasts. One oddity: I have an external hard disc dock that connects via USB2.0. If that is connected and powered up on a cold boot, it hangs the bootup. I simply shut it off before bootup.

It’s a cheap dock, so it may be something with the dock itself as opposed to the PC.

Perhaps USB is ahead of SAS/SATA in BIOS boot order?
