    Any guidance on how to make a video like this?

    Hi everyone,

    I’m looking for some guidance on how to create a particular kind of animated video. You can see a great example of what I’m looking for here:

    Basically, it’s animated in 3D(2.5D?) space, but the characters themselves appear to be stationary. I’d very much like to learn how to make something similar for a project of my own. I’m assuming the video was created in After Effects, and I know some of the fire, smoke, etc. is particle based, but beyond that, can anyone offer me any advice on the general techniques used to create a 3D-ish, partially animated video like this one?
