    Hi …

I have captured HDV clips from the Sony Z1U into FCP5 … i’d like to change the scale settings on a few clips so that the framing is tighter …

The question is, since my final output is to DV, is there any benefit to doing the scale setting changes before the convert to DV? and if so, how do you do this?

I have tried to do this but when i copy the clip from my HDV timeline after doing the scale change and paste onto my DV timeline and render it, the scale change is very different than what i had on my HDV clip.

I was under the impression that the quality would be better if I adjusted the HDV clip and then downconverted to DV versus adjusting the clip at the DV stage.

    cheers, beck
