Anti-aliasing fun
I’m doing some animation with several lines of text (black text with solid white boxes behind). Each line is horizontally moving into position and fading in at the same time and has a time offset so the first line moves in and then the second etc. The problem is that the white boxes vertically overlap, so it looks odd with the staggered fade.
I’ve basically tried everything I can think of to get each layer on a separate pixel-perfect horizontal slice – using an image mask made in Photoshop, cropping the layer, adding a rectangular mask and using Fixed Resolution. Yet Motion always insists on antialiasing the edge of the mask. Normally this would be fine but in this instance I don’t want it to do anything “clever” at all – just leave the mask as a hard edge so the text blocks cannot overlap. Anyone got any bright ideas to hack around this?
