So I’ve been working with Vegas for a while now, loving most of the features, but I’m not sure about what to do for this.

So I’ve created a film from some clips I had, and while I can render it as DivX the quality suffers some, since Codecs are improving all the time what I’d like to do is render it as close to “original” quality as is possible, and store than, then anytime I need to make a smaller copy (for someone else, to put on a CD, whatever) I can just use that original (as opposed to keeping 10GB of “original clips” around).

I couldn’t see an option to render as native minidv (or minidv quality or anything like that), am I looking in the wrong place? Or would this be under one of the other options?

May have answered my own question,

I saved off the project with all source files, although I’m not sure it did the trimming as expected (I did tell it to trim, but lots of the clips have a good amount of extra stuff that I’m sure I trimmed, but maybe it depends how you trim).

Anyway, that at least got the “basic” stuff for making the project again whenever I need to encode different variations for different tasks.

“Native miniDV” is AVI as the file type and NTSC DV or PAL DV as the preset.

DivX is highly compressed and not officially supported.
