Another audio question
Posted by Linda O’connell on December 11, 2009 at 11:36 pmI have some audio that recorded too loud. When I try to just lower the volume, it still sounds kind of muffly..some echoy.. It is not clear. Any ideas?

Sony Sound Forge is a fantastic program for your audio needs. I use it to increase and decrease my audio all the time. I’d be lost without it.
Good Luck!

December 13, 2009 at 2:37 pmiZotope RX also has tools to restore clipping but if it really has a lot of clipping distortion there may be no way to recover it. Digital audio, unlike analog, simply throws the information away above 0dBFS. It is better to record audio lower and have to raise the volume than to record too loud and have it clip.
