Hey I’m ingesting some video from a VHS deck with a kona lhe, the audio is through a mackie onyx and then firewire.
I get about a 5 second audio drift forward at about 10 mins and 17 seconds at 45 mins of the video.

I looked around the forum, but there are some many different scenarios of audio drift it’s hard to find the right one.

Here is a screen shot of the capture settings…

    Thanks

Get the Audio and video going both through the Kona. Just send the analog signals down the same path, and you’re problem is likely to go away.

Any other way? I’d really like to keep the flexibility FireWire gives me. It frees up the few outputs I have on the little board.

No other way I know of… You could add some sort of mixer to the setup, and then just connect your analog outs from decks to it, then on to the Kona…

That’s what the Mackie is, an 8 input mixer. There has got to be some solution.

Doe the mixer have analog outs? If so connect it to the Kona.

Thats just what I’m trying to avoid. The board is only so big, so I’d like to use the FireWire port which then frees up the main outs and alt outs for other things.

Get a bigger board? or just reconnect things as needed. The sync issue is very likely going to go away if you do.

Buy a small patch bay. Having two devices as input to FCP is going to cause issues. Which one is clock master? Can you sync the firewire device to master video like the Kona?

For solid sync as Jerry said, have the audio and video input via the Kona.
