Hi everyone. First post! 🙂 I just found the forum after encountering the 24f XH-A1 capture incompatibility. My first significant Vegas let-down since coming on board the bus at the time of Vegas 6.0.

I hope a new full release is on the way with a remedy for the problem. Anyone have news? I searched the forum and the most recent post I could find on Vegas 9 was from September.

And as it’s my first post, just wanted everyone to know I’m a Vegas fan and journalist. I’ve converted a few FCP-ers and even a newsroom over the past few years, but my work never ends! If I ever leave this business, I hope Sony will have me 🙂

    Cheers.

Well, I’m sure pleased to have learned that the Vegas Pro 8.0c upgrade resolved the 24f problem.

Still looking forward to 9.0, but at least now I can finish my project.

So, make that no major Vegas let-downs to date.

I am glad to know you found out that their was support
for 24f and that their was no let down.

I see you are curious about version 9….anything
specific in features you need that you cant already do in
    version 8.0c ?

i’m still discovering all the things i CAN do in vegas. but now and again i come up with a minor preference that would be nice to have.

for one thing, it’d be great to have the option to disable the auto-docking that occurs when you drag a free-floating window (say, a text titler or audio plug-in) over certain parts of the layout. i work on a laptop with a small screen, so i prefer to keep certain windows un-docked.

I can’t begin to tell you how valuable a true storyboarding feature would be in Vegas. The time savings from being able to arrange clips or subclips in any order prior to dragging them onto the timeline would be significant for me. Even being able to rearrange their order within a bin would be helpful.

Probably 90% of my work these days is corporate and industrial video, with the remaining 10% being events.

    Thanks for listening.

    Hi Sean,

I also do editing with a laptop and got frustated with the docking feature until somebody here mentioned holding the CTRL key as you move the window around, it prevent it from docking automatically.
