I was wondering if anyone had an issue like this in the past. When importing a standard high resolution jpeg into Final Cut Pro, FCP seems to darken the photo an it looks terrible even after color correcting. Does anyone know why this may be happening? Is it an importing issue? I appreciate the help!

Don’t know if it’d help but try converting to .png first. FCP seems to work well with that format.

    Agree.
    JPEG is a compressed format.
Convert it better to any BM 24b format: PNG, Tiff, Photoshop..
This together with setting your Canvas at 100% and render to a good codec.
