Annoying dual monitor/app window problem
Running R9 on windows xp, although I had the same problem with R8 on OSX:
I have a 2 monitor setup, and everytime I open the program the app window opens on the left monitor only, and I have to drag the app window out again to fill both monitors. It doesn’t seem to matter how I save my layout, the app window only opens and fills the left monitor. I searched through the posts and was suprised no one else has ever complained about this, because it’s been driving me crazy for over a year.
Any ideas?

ive never had this problem, i run it on OSX and XP.
Cinema will show up on your PRIMARY monitor. Take a look in system preferences on both machines.
Mac, its where ever the top bar is, windows its whereever the PRIMARY monitor is…or in some dumb cases where the taskbar is.

Yeah, it drives me crazy too. The only workaround I know of is to put your layout in two group windows instead of one big window, but that has its own set of problems.

i really have never had any problem like this. Ive used mianly Nvidia and SiS cards
i know some cards it has to do with the OGL pipeline on the output

I think Aaron’s trying with one window across two monitors, which I don’t think works. Do it with two palettes using Window>layout>new group window and populate it with things like the Object Manager, Attributes Manager, Coordinates, Materials with some room left over to dock your favorite plugins.

using the second group window seems to do the job as long as both windows are maximized. I wasn’t even aware of that feature. Now with the 5 seconds I’m saving at every startup maybe I can squeeze another project in 🙂thanks,
