Animation project best place to store IMPORTED FILES (because I will have thousands!!!)
Hi,
I have been following tutorials on lynda.com and searching here and reading manuals, and I’m relatively new to FCP. I understand that by importing a file FCP doesn’t actually create a new media file as Avid would but that it just points to the original. Now the project I am starting is an animated TV series and we will be receiving thousands of individual Quicktime for import.
1. Should I drag these to Capture Scratch and the subfolder for that particular episode?
2. Should I create a separate folder on my RAID outside or inside (???) of the FInal Cut Pro Documents folder called, perhaps Media, with subfolders for each individual episode?
3. Does FCP have trouble with long file trees when it is attempting to read media (i.e. is there a recommended limit to how far down the actual file gets buried in folder/subfolder/subfolder chains)?
Will very much appreciate any clear advice on this! Thanks!
