animation compression settings
Hi,
Can anyone help me with what is probably a really simple question. I am trying to render out a short quicktime movie to be played on widescreen tv via a dvd player. I am using DV/D1 PAL 720×576, with a pixel ratio of 1.42:1. Yet in the compression settings under dv-pal the aspect ratio always reverts back to 4:3 and results in a square looking render.
Is this normal or I am I making a mistake somewhere.

The preset is using non-square pixels which is correct if the file is going to be played back on TV. It will looked squashed when you render it, but it will stretch to normal proportions when played back.
If you want you can change it to square pixels under Render Settings>Ouput>Pixel Aspect.
