Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Animation codec with field ordering?

Yes you would have to render an animation codec clip but it renders faster.

The still cache doesn’t seem to get released automatically when you render an image sequence. Disabling then re-enabling other still clips, sorts the cache out.

You could use nesting but as we all know, nesting is a little bit unpredicatable on FCP sometimes. Incidentally, if you do import a folder of images then you can drag the folder itself to the sequence and all the images will get placed individually.

    John,

Martin is simply way too smart for our own good… (numerous smiley faces go here)

If he never told any of us about these potential issues we’d all have gone through life using file sequences without a single issue, as I have done until now. However, now that we know all the hazzards, everyone of them will crop up. Its the way of the world.

BTW, as one of Martin’s customers, its a good thing he’s so smart. He’s designed some very intelligent and elegantly executed plugins. And, I like his website too…

I tried your advice about importing Targa sequence, but I get an Error that says “unrecognized file” in FCP 6.04. import the same sequence via Quicktime, works.

    any Ideas?

“I get an Error that says “unrecognized file” in FCP 6.04.”

I have the same problem (FCP not wanting to recognize .TGA files) and was wondering whether you’ve been able to find a solution.
