Anyone know of a way to control the color shift of vertical bars in the background as done in the NBC “More Colorful.” branding:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzUFZCxC46U

It’s easy enough to apply an adjustment layer that shifts the hue of all of the bars at once, but I need it to maintain a specific set of hues, and not produce colors that are anything but those included in the branding. Virtually identical to NBC’s promo stuff.

    Thanks,

use the Colorama plugin, setting the output phase colour wheel so that it only contains colours you want to see.
then apply that to the bars.

you could also keyframe a color change in something like the tint effect.

Well that makes me feel like an idiot. Thanks for helping me realize how simple it was! I was prepared to do an intensive study on expressions to limit the values of hue/sat, etc.

Guess it’s a case for the adage of “Keep it Simple, Stupid.”

    Thanks a million.
