    Hey,

I have a grid of paths and ellipses that I am trying to animate in an undulating/random/wavy fashion. I mocked this out in the last hour or so using Paths and Ellipses and animating the positions and paths. See gif here. https://i.imgur.com/cgAH8fc.gif

I am trying to find an efficient way of doing this without selecting each point creating keyframes for each movement. I would like the ellipses pinned to each intersection as they move.

I have tried Mesh warp, but that stretches the image as it animates it which is something I don’t want.

I have also tried Repeater, but that does not give me the control of each point that I am looking for.

I am looking for a procedural way to do this, whether be it through an expression or an effect.

    Thanks

You could tie the positions of your circle layers to the points of the mesh warp effect.

You could try using the puppet tool.

You could make this with expressions pointing beam effects between each circle

In any case, you could then use wiggle or noise() to move the circles around.

Or, if you have Cinema 4D, there are some waaaaaay easier ways to do this there.
