  • Animating in large amount of dots on map

I would like to randomly animate in all these dots from small to large on the map. The only way I know how seems like it would be painstaking slow…I would set up my AI file with all the dots on separate layers, animate a dot from small to large, copy and paste my keyframes to each layer and stagger the layers. Is there a better and faster way to get this done?

    THANKS!

Animating the dot growing, positioning duplicates and offsetting that would be the first thing I would think of as well. But if you have 2, 3 or more colors for the dots (potentially more and you can color correct them after that or replace color after the animation is done) then you can separate layers with dots of the same color, use a matte choker to animate the growth of the dots, and then offset the layers. Hope that makes sense.
