Animating Around the Custom Shape
Hi everyone 🙂
I am trying to do one thing with animation in AE.
Is there way to wrap animation along the path?
Meaning I have kind of pattern / looped movement of some objects that should “wrap around” some custom shape.I mean like below, at 0:10 sec:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8lpJn1fG68I found those by accident and honestly I am not sure how is it solved in After Effects.
I tried to do that by distorting & warping but result was far from expected. Proportions were messed up and I couldn’t wrap around whole object.Any thoughts on that will be appreciated 🙂

You could probably most easily do this specific animation with text on a path, and characters like the pipe symbol, the apostrophe, hyphens, and dashes.
For doing this with arbitrary shapes, I’d start with the pointOnPath() expression. I’ve demonstrated its use in this thread:
