I am trying to animate an arrow overtop of a road from about 20 seconds of helicopter footage. If the footage was still, I would have no problem. Animating a moving arrow, simulating the direction a car would be driving along this road, while the footage itself moves, is presenting a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dave, I have already started down that path. I was HOPING that there might be an easier way though! Once I had the masked road in place, I wasn’t sure how I was going to take the motion track from there, but your post has shown me the best way to go. Thank you so much, I REALLY appreciate the time you took to answer. 🙂

I would track the car, create a null and paste all the position information on it, then create the arrow and link it to the null.

    Does it help?
