Animating an adjustment layer mask in the absence of expressions
Hi there,
I’ve got a highlight effect in my videos which is three concentric rings that are animated to pulse around an object to draw attention to it. To further increase this focus I’m trying to have an adjustment layer blur and desaturate everything not inside the highlight rings.
Am I correct in thinking there’s no way to slave the mask of my adjustment layer to the scale of the rings as they pulse and that my only option for animating the mask is to keyframe its shape path in time with the pulses?

I would assume you can use an animated track matte for the adjustment layer (a shape layer or masked solid linked to the scale value) so that the adjustment affects the masked area only (or the outside).
