Animating a color range selection in video for a 3D effect
So this is a thought teaser.
In photoshop I would use the “color range” Selection menu to do very detailed (but automatic selections)
I could easily select dozens of foreground > middle > background alpha channeled images
separate the layers a bit and you have an interesting pseudo 3D “Model” built of layers.Though it is a still, you can use these in AfterEffects timeline for a nice 3D effect
Great, But…
I want to do this with VideoI am wondering it there is a way to do such a “color selection ” in After Effects that will do this to every frame uniquely
so that I can divide my video into many “layers” of foreground middle & back automatically
without having to “animate a mask” with motion tracking.
(or maybe there is a better automatic way to do it with masking)Doing each image in a 24fps timeline is quite a labor intensive workflow…
Thanks
